After establishing an IC design house for LCD TV chips in the first quarter of 2004, ASUS is planning on introducing branded LCD TVs toward the end of 2004. Panels will be supplied by Chi Mei.

 

Gigabyte is expecting to roll out branded TVs near the end of the third quarter. Initially, production will be outsourced.

 

Mitac has indicated that it will ship 32" LCD TVs in October 2004, while also introducing 26" and 27" models. Building on the relationship formed with Sharp in notebook PC, the company will be producing 23" LCD TVs for the Japanese vendor.

 

Twinhead plans to roll out 32"models targeted at European channels.
